In today’s discussion, we are going to discuss the myths relating affiliate marketing leads generation. In particular, we will discuss about search engine optimization and online advertising.

Myth #1 - You Can Generate Affiliate Marketing Leads Through Search Engine Optimization

The story is always the same - If your webpage can rank in the first page of the search engines, you can drive lots of marketing leads to your affiliated product and make money.

It’s not true!

Well, it’s true that you may be able to drive lots of traffic, but you may not generate any sale.

Memorize the paragraph below by heart!

The first secret in affiliate marketing leads generation through search engine optimization is to find targeted leads who are “planning” to buy. The second secret is to find targeted leads who are “about” to buy.

The two may sound similar but not quite so. Read again if you don’t get what I mean.

Before you even think about search engine optimization, you must first decide what kind of keywords your leads may use.

Let’s say you are selling an ebook called “Forex Made Easy” (I made up this title), you should ask yourself for those who may buy “Forex Made Easy”, what kind of keywords will they use?

For those who are “planning” to buy, they may search for “forex ebook review”, “forex trading guide” etc. You can do your research using various keyword tools, through forums or even spying Adwords competitors.

For those who are “about” to buy, it is relatively simple. They will typically search for “forex made easy review”, “forex made easy scam” or “forex made easy bonus”. These are leads who are about to buy and with a slight push and some incentive, they will buy from you.

Myth #2 - Just Post An Advertisement And You Will Make Money Instantly

Many newbies loss money in advertising because they don’t understand the advertising industry, or should I say they don’t understand the mindset of the leads viewing their ads.

Most forms of online advertising involve promoting to a group of leads with a common interest. This means instead of targeting leads who are ‘planning’ or ‘about’ to buy, you are now targeting leads who have a common interest and may not be thinking of buying anything yet.

You may be asking what is the difference?

The difference is HUGE!

It affects the way you craft your salesletter (or presell letter).

Let’s use the same example - to promote a forex ebook.

You can advertise to a group of leads who are interested in forex trading or you can advertise to leads interested in making money online. The approaches are different.

The key to living is growing and learning. The day you stop those two things is the day that you start dying. Ask yourself right now, am I moving forward or am I stagnant? There are hundreds if not thousands of people right now, just like you, trying to find a way to make money on the internet. Scrolling through page upon page of different programs all offering to make you big and rich tomorrow for a nominal fee today. The bottom line is this, with the rare exceptions out there, in order to make money online you need to learn and stick with the fundamentals.

I have a friend who loves to coach. His passion for athletics and his children has made him the coach of four different sports teams, all in different sports, football, baseball, soccer, and basketball. Seeing as how he is my friend, I asked him, and what he told me is this, “It’s all in the fundamentals.”

His practices all consist of helping the kids keep a positive mindset and practicing the fundamentals. He never has his teams scrimmage or strategize about upcoming games during practice. All they do is work on fundamentals of the sport they are playing, and they do this more then any other team they are going to go up against. Constantly practicing and improving the fundamentals is how his teams progress faster then their competitors. When other teams are getting caught up in winning through strength and strategy, my friend’s teams are just so good with the basics that they blow everyone else out of the water.

So this got me thinking about my own internet business and why it is that I have been able to succeed on such a high level when others around me have failed. The answer I came up with isn’t that surprising.

When most people are trying to build an online home based business they are doing it by looking for a quick fix. They want whatever they are doing to work NOW, they want instant success. This mentality then makes them prey to all of those business opportunities out there that promise that they will get rich overnight. They also fall victim to all of the advertising scams out there that say they will deliver thousands of prospects to their site in the next 24 hours. Let me tell you something right now, these programs are only designed to steal your hard earned money. Why are they still out there then? Simple, when people are desperate and they are out there looking for answers to make their situations better they are looking for something instant, and this makes them easy to be taken advantage of. This also makes their chances for internet success slim to none.

Now, there are thousands of business opportunities on the internet, and there are even more ways to advertise and promote your website. What I personally do is practice the fundamentals. What this means is that I stick with the business opportunities that I joined for the long haul and promoting my website consistently with simple, easily maintained and affordable internet marketing techniques.

So how does this work, your blog is like an on-line diary where you feature articles called blog posts, you can allow or block comments been made about your posts. If you allow comments you are building back links to your site that assist your blogs popularity. To start with you can post your articles submitted to article directories.

Other things you can do are:

1. Join Blogging communities like (MyBlogLog)

2. Use Social Networks like pingomatic, pin goat, feed shark, technorati, dig and much more.

3. You can leave comments on blogs associated with your niche.

Your blog can be used as your marketing hub directing links to your other sites and offers, just offer good quality and relevant content and you will build interest and traffic.

3. Forums-These are sites where like minded people swap comments on points of interest. That maybe part of the problem. Ad-blindness generally becomes the necessity of ad invention. Even as Google slays the competition in the search ad sector and takes in 40 percent higher profits quarter after quarter, there must be something to the company's (and its competitors') willingness to dole out heaps of cash for ad display companies and prime real estate like YouTube.

Google did, after all, start weaving video into AdSense, and over laying ads on YouTube. (How are you dealing with ad-blindness? Comment.)

So there may be (okay, there is) some credibility to Microsoft's belief that the bulk of online ad spending in the near future will steer away from keyword advertisements. But again it is still hard to imagine too much of that bulk being redirected.

My teenager at home, Internet-savvy as he is, still uses the Google search bar to find YouTube and Wikipedia – even though I've fussed at him repeatedly to just type in the URL. He's a good representative of the average surfer – the journey begins with a search engine.

Even then, and even though Google has prided itself (in the days of moving upwards from launch to national conscience) on its clean, unobtrusive interface with text ads tucked neatly to the sides or differentiated up top in the prime real estate area.

But don't count on it staying that way. It's not clear what Sergey Brin meant by "the convergent optimizer" that will be launched from beta-testing, but here is the context in which it is delivered, courtesy of Tiernan Ray:

Co-founder Sergey Brin talked about a new initiative rolling out this quarter, called the “convergent optimizer,” currently in beta-testing. (Sounds spooky.) It will allow ad clients to bid on how much a Web user is worth to them, and then Google will figure the math of how much that client should spend to buy a keyword. Brin said the company was seeing higher click-through rates than expected for ads it has been placing at the bottom of YouTube videos.

The mention of YouTube in that report is telling. Surfers are again blind to online advertising -- just as we ignore banners, we've learned to ignore the right column as well as the ads above the search listings, even on webpages where we think ads are supposed to be.

Call it Google-operant-conditioning. And, as my teenager shows, it's difficult to unlearn bad habits. In order to be noticed, online advertising will have to converge. Microsoft knows it, Google knows it. (Have you heard of this "convergent optimizer?" Fill us in with a comment.)

But it won't replace search. Search is the starting line. Online ads will be adapting and changing, though, to catch the searcher in the SERPs, in the social network, the video site, the blog, wherever the searcher ends up after they've searched.

There is an imbalance on the advertiser side, though. Part of the necessity that is driving invention is that smaller advertisers are being squeezed out of the starting point, the SERPs by big brand advertisers, who not only drive up the cost of PPC, but also buy out the top ranking websites in order to appear in the organic results.

Small advertisers, then, are left to hang on to the long tail for dear life. Very soon, if not already, it's Trickledown Economics applied to search advertising. The little guy gets the keywords left over after the bigger competitors buy up everything else.

So there is a necessity to provide more advertising channels, especially if Google and the rest want to maximize revenue. Maybe you can't get a position you want on the SERPs, but if targeted well enough, your ad might be aptly placed in a YouTube or AdSense video, within a Facebook widget, delivered via geo-targeted text message,
or maybe alongside a Twitter conversation.

BUT: No matter HOW fabulous your product is — if no one is looking to buy that product — or something like it — online, then your business will collapse like a pack of cards.

It’s just that simple.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is also referred to as network marketing. The MLM is essentially a type of business model that combines direct marketing with franchising. Commissions are paid incrementally when the sales volume in each leg matches.

In recent years, the MLM business has developed an image problem due to its resemblance to the illegal pyramid or other similar schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries around the world. Many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses. In the legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company's products and/or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone through sign-up fees, though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements.

[NEW YORK - Wednesday] - by Devon Melk. Rumors are now running a mok that the 2nd most powerful website on the entire Worldwide-Web may file BANKRUPTCY, with the deadline set for this December; being the date of both discharge and dissolution in a Federal Court of Law.

This would come as a SHOCK to investors and "Googlers" alike who both profit and benefit from the use of the World's largest and most powerful search engine which receives far in excess of 100 MILLION unique daily visitors and well over 300 million individual searches daily - making it perhaps the single most valuable public data resource as an "information bank" online the world over.

But is the rumor true or false?

The origin of the rumor occurred when some savvy Internet marketers began making statements that they had heard "insiders' talk" that the company (now publicly traded since April 30, 2004, just over 3years ago) may face financial disaster with the release of a "new system" that would allow advertisers to get their other wise pay-per-click (PPC) advertising completely free.

The retired New York doctor and native has a publicly disclosed networth now in excess of $70 million [US], having generated well over $377 million in product sales from sixteen (16) separate online businesses within just nine (9) years since first venturing online in 1998 (about the same time as Google was founded).

It is estimated by company insiders and leading financial analysts that the "good doctor" (as he's called by "all who know him") has purportedly saved well over $93 million (some estimates suggest closer to $136 million) in otherwise paid advertising at Google and the other major players in the PPC targeted-search arena online -including Yahoo, MSN, AskJeeves, AllTheWeb.com, HotBot, AltaVista, Lycos and Netscape, just to name a few.

The "secret" became available to the general masses last April, and its very release caused such a major sweeping stir among the community of Internet-marketers, affiliate-marketers, webmasters, ecommerce company owners and surfers alike that the site quickly rose to break the top most visited 1,000 websites on the entire planet briefly; and as can be seen here:

When asked if the "secret" would some how ruin Google, Dr Cohen revealed almost cryptically that it actually would bring about just the opposite effect, and "stimulate" even more business volume forthe virtual giant.

Even a "live" woman spokes-representative ("Rachel") has been added to the site, and who appears to literally walk out onto the web page and talk to visitors and explain a bit more how the mysterious new breakthrough system works.

Since the addition of this new "live" spokes-woman has now appeared at the site, company Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mr Todd Coutrin states that "sales for the system have skyrocketed above 2,430% suddenly and with no limit in sight."

Coutrin continues: "With the newest revision now in place, plus all the additions added, affiliates for the new system can expect to earn even more than ever before!" (Note: Affiliates make up the bulk of the firm's sales generation.)

The refund rate for the new revised version of the secret (namedV5.1) has dropped to less than half of what it was before the newer version's release; meaning it's now even more readily-received and put to use than ever before (perhaps in large part to the newer simplicity of application) - now making it the safest and one of the best resellers for the networks of affiliate marketers who earn their revenues from the reselling of other electronic publishers' stock and digital product lines.

Attempts to contact both Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the former Stanford University students who founded Google in 1998, to request comment were unsuccessful.

This is exactly what good planning for a budget is. You identify what needs to be done from a financial sense and then you make sure to carry it out in a way that allows you to maintain the cost efficiency principle. Sometimes you might be able to reach ten times as many people, but depending on the kind of media and other factors, the additional exposure will only generate twice as many sales. Keep your eye attuned to situations like this to get the most from your advertising dollars.

LESSON 4
